Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Platemen Steel uses cookies, local storage objects, and similar tracking technologies to configure, personalize, and optimize our digital interface in compliance with GDPR and Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet).
1. What are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device. Local storage is a technology built into modern web browsers that allows sites to store key-value pairs directly in your browser. Unlike traditional cookies, local storage objects do not have expiration dates and are not transmitted back to a server automatically, making them highly secure and efficient for local preference saving.
2. How We Use Local Data Storage
Platemen Steel uses local browser storage exclusively for core system operations, user configuration saving, and keeping track of cookie consent states. We do not use third-party tracking, advertising tracking, or remarketing scripts.
The following local storage components are utilized on our platform:
- platemensec_cookie_consent: Stores your choice ("accepted" or "declined") regarding the data consent notification. Retained locally until cleared by the user.
- platemensec_consent_id: A uniquely generated code (e.g., NL-CS-XXXX-XXXX) assigned to your session if you accept our notice. This acts as your anonymous consent confirmation ID.
- platemensec_consent_time: Records the exact date and timestamp when your consent choice was registered.
3. Legal Bases for Storage
Under Dutch law, functional storage that is strictly necessary for the technical operation of a service requested by the user is exempt from explicit prior consent. Preference configurations (like remembering that you dismissed a banner) fall under legitimate operations, but we provide an explicit toggle on our interface to manage and delete these records at any time.
4. Managing and Clearing Storage
You can inspect, clear, and disable all local storage keys directly from your browser's security console:
- In Chrome/Edge: Press F12 -> Go to Application -> Local Storage.
- In Firefox: Press F12 -> Go to Storage -> Local Storage.
- In Safari: Enable developer menu -> Press Option-Cmd-I -> Go to Storage -> Local Storage.
Alternatively, clearing your browser history or cache will completely remove all Platemen Steel preference keys from your storage space.
5. Updates to This Policy
Platemen Steel reserves the right to update this policy as operational, technical, or legal conditions change. We recommend checking this page periodically to stay informed about our data practices.
6. Court Jurisdiction
This policy is governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any legal proceedings related to this policy shall be brought exclusively before the Court of Amsterdam (Rechtbank Amsterdam).
